When ⅔ of us don’t vote, a small minority of people gets to decide how our entire city runs. They control what happens to our local economy, our emergency services, and the water coming out of our taps, and whether our tax dollars should go to American firms.
This year, we need to show up.
We are asking Winnipeggers to vote for the Local Guarantee, a practical, no-nonsense plan to get our city back on track. We are looking to elect candidates who commit to fixing the basics:
Protecting our water
Upgrading our aging systems to ensure our tap water stays safe and stopping raw sewage from flowing into Lake Winnipeg.
A smarter 911 response
Sending mental health professionals to handle mental health crises. This gets people the right help faster and frees up the police to deal with actual crime.
Hiring local workers first
Stopping the push to outsource city jobs to out-of-province corporations. We need to keep our tax dollars right here in Winnipeg.
Safer, cleaner neighborhoods
Investing directly in community safety and making sure our streets, parks, and public spaces are properly maintained.
City-wide composting
Finally rolling out a public green-bin program to cut down on waste and extend the life of our landfill.
